Trump questions whether Supreme Court would hear election challenge as options dwindle

Trump has the base.  70 million still voted for the liar.  If he wants to run, he will and there's nothing the GOP can do to stop him or he'll crush whoever tries.  Just like dictators do.

In 4 years time his "base" will be espousing some other bizarre cause.

If he is to survive he has to remain President. That gives him four more years to try and sort out the mess( his personal affairs not the USA's, he doesn't give a monkey's about that mess); the courts aren't going to spring him but they may cause enough disruption to allow the matter to end up in front of Congress - I suspect that is his plan.

That you had to qualify "accepted" with "seemingly" kind of undercuts your point, no?

Stating that he intends to run for POTUS again in 2024 , seems to suggest that he has accepted the election defeat .

What else could he mean ?

Because he doesn't frequently contradict himself? But this time it's different?

There were some suggestion on here that he would refuse to leave the White House and that the Proud boys would be outside protecting him and the building and that Antifa would have to take up arms to remove him and a civil war would break out  ????

I am a regular on Trump posts and I cannot remember a single post infering any of what you are saying here. Never seen anyone talking about 'Proud boys would be outside protecting him' nor 'Antifa would have to take up arms to remove him and a civil war would break out'.

Please either provide evidence of this or accept you are mearly putting words into the mouths of us who are less of a fan of Trump than you appear to be.

He already said he'd leave the W H if the electoral college declared Biden the winner. That's pretty conclusive. Still 11 days to go though.

I think he will say that he's going to run again in 2024 just to keep everyone focused during the next 4 years. He may be better off for the 4 year break as the economy is probably going to be a disaster and the president ( whomever they are ) is, IMO, going to be the one in the firing line.

IMO, rather than run again, he'll be making Biden uncomfortable for 4 years, and be kingmaker for 2024.

He said this, far from the same as your claim. Unless you can give another definition of 'otherwise'.

"We are trying to do another four years," he told the assembled group, according to a Republican source who was at the event. "Otherwise, I’ll see you in four years"

Can anyone explain to me how a normal, reasonably intelligent human-being, can be a fan of Trump?

I know there are 70 million of them, but it still doesn't explain how they can be fans.

I heard that too, but I put it down to misinformation campaign. I doubt any one would think that was possible in the real world.

Are we talking about the Same Trump that has just seemingly accepted an election defeat ?

Huh?  Trump just gave a 46-minute fact-free rant that would suggest otherwise....

[WASHINGTON – Nearly four weeks after President-elect Joe Biden won the Nov. 3 election, President Donald Trump continues to level baseless claims of widespread voter fraud and a litany of conspiracy theories that have failed to hold up in court.]

[Those claims have continued despite a series of scathing court decisions – including one written by a Trump-appointed judge – growing dissention within the GOP and an admission by his own Attorney General that there is no evidence of widespread fraud.]

[Trump's latest salvo came Wednesday with a 46-minute video in which he rehashed many of the same claims.]

Yes, the hand over isnt scheduled until 21 st of January , seems like he will accept the result , he is within his rights to make sure the result was legal , which doesnt make him a "dictator"

Agree...not a dictator, but a thoroughly despicable person, lacking in morals and basic decency that should never have been allowed to serve in a public office.

He is trying for another four years , if that fails , he will run again in four years time , meaning he will step down as POTUS in January

Again, Trump is a dictator wannabe.  If he could get away with it, he would.  Like when he tried to get the Michigan GOP legislature to interfere with the election results.  And like how he tried to get Georgia and Arizona GOP governors to hand him their states.   Come on, there are many examples of Trump acting like a dictator.  Thankfully, US institutions have been able to withstand his corrupt tendencies.

No they weren't. They were protesting peacefully until Trump ordered the 82nd Airborne to attack them without provocation.

Can you give me a link to that , just so I know what you are referring to

"Demagogue" might be the word you're looking for. And given how he politicized mask wearing, "mass murderer" might be another.

If he walk like a pig and smell like a pig, I call that a pig. Just read this link.

"Denying defeat, claiming fraud and using government machinery to reverse election results are time-honored tools of dictator". Enjoy.

A dictator is a President who doesnt hold elections , Dictators have absolute power .

Trump has just been involved in an election and will concede power in due process , hence he cannot be described as a dictator

Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un are dictators and they held election. History peppered with such kind of dictators like Marcos. Suharto just to name a few who held election and  subvert the results to remain in power. Trump is doing just that.

If they were elected and have held elections, that means they are not dictators

Is Trump within his rights to use the Presidential pulpit to undermine faith in US democracy by insisting without evidence that the election was rigged?
