As most of us do, we occasionally end up at the Dentist, opticians, hospital, clinic for one reason or another, the one thing that really irks me is that as soon as you walk in they insist on carrying out a set of procedures prior to seeing the Dr or whatever.

The trouble (for me at least) is that generally they will do all the tests in full view of a waiting room full of people, I don't want every Tom Dick or Harry knowing my weight, BP, temperature or any other personal data, anyone else feel uncomfortable with this ? ?

I went to a local Pattaya hospital for an eye test recently and had my BP, temperature, and weight done before I had a complete vision test done in a lounge full

of waiting patients.

Why is there no privacy ? After 9 years I'm still baffled.

if you dont feel comfortable politely ask for a private room or screen. problem solved.

Oh be patient, it's no better after 30 years! ????

Don't sweat the small stuff.

No one is interested in your data, I've never looked at other people's results

What is strange though, they always do the temperature, blood pressure, weight tests no matter what you're there for

They do it because they charge for it. Last time I went I just said " no thanks" as it wasnt relevant as to why I was there.

The one that gets me is the "nurse" that follows you in to the Dr's room and just stands there by the door while you discuss personal things with the Dr. Why does she need to be there, i asked for her to leave.

Yes, totally agree, some things are private and personal between you and your Dr.  and dont need an audience.

Next time I will inform them that I  have high blood pressure,  am overweight a bit & my temperature when I left home (using exactly the same model of thermometer as the hospital) is spot on, that way I will  save  money,  thanks for the tip ????????

I must add that I do suffer when it comes to balance, asking me to stand on scales, especially if flush with the wall is a problem that I don't really want strangers seeing, but I have also been sat in a corridor with other people directly opposite who took a great interest in my BP. I can do without that thanks.  ????
