Chevron driving towards 500 filling stations in Thailand

Chevron (Thailand) will roll out more Caltex petrol stations in Thailand to meet its target of 500 next year, up from over 400 at present, said Alice Potter, country chair and general manager.

 

Chevron said it will also upgrade existing stations with smart designs at a rate of 50 per year to cater to new-generation lifestyles.

 

Meanwhile the company is joining with partners to open food and coffee shops in the stations to strengthen its non-oil business.

 

She added that the company has continued to invest in Thailand given its growth potential in terms of oil consumption and the economy.

Haven't quite perfected the 'leccy vehicle' with a real noisy exhaust yet.  Hang in there it'll come. ????

I'm sure when EVs become more popular, someone will develop an App you can download that will use your in-car entertainment system to simulate an thunderously loud exhaust. It's bound to appeal to boy-racers.

the reality is electric cars cant be charged easily here either at home or in stations and the electric would be dirtier than the many gas powered vehicles here.thers still lignite power stations.diesel is where the problem lies here.step by step i feel,clean diesel or no diesel,some real forest and mangrove cover put back in not more fish ponds and palm oil nor pineapple plantations marked as forest cover.lets do the obvious things and the most helpful.lobby your govts at home to stop using palm oil from asia,thats probably the best thing all of us could do.if we want an environment lets do something about it as honestly the local pop and govt have made war on nature very successfully last 50 yrs ,we see tiger farms pangolins shipped in thousands.gibbon and slow loris used as photo shoots whilst corrupt cops stand and stare.film them. weve all a phone and put in social media,that would have an effect .the low IQ,massive ego and arrogance would be shot down and perhaps something might be done but no way is that coming from within,

It exists already ???? Plays through your radio. Just need a speaker that looks like 4" diameter exhaust pipe stuck on the back ????

Oil companies probably expect countries like Thailand are likely to move to electric cars much slower than countries in the west, hence see better investment potential here.

 

Maybe they could consider opening on the long stretches of highway where there are no petrol stations rather than in the clusters of three or four within 500 metres that you usually find! I've never quite understood this concept.

All of the change points are free to use, meaning that drivers can charge their EV battery for free while they shop.

All of the charge points are powered by 100% renewable electricity and since the rollout began in 2019, over 669 MWh of energy has powered customers’ vehicles, this is enough energy to travel around planet earth 120 times.

This has saved almost 400,000 kg of CO2 and also significantly reduced air pollution emissions.

That's really great??? TWO charge points in each of 200 stores. Charge while you shop? How much energy can you put into your battery in say 30 minutes. And how long will the queues be to use these points. How do they know where the electricity comes from if connected to the National Grid?  Load of rubbish!

Maybe they don't believe that the EV vehicles  will take over. 

Maybe they are already installing their  Electric connections for the  Future  EV Chargers in their New Servos.
