A fisherman is in ICU fighting for his life in a coma after a lightning strike at Hat Laem beach in Cherng Nern sub-district of Muang district Rayong yesterday.

Muang district police and rescue services attended in stormy conditions and found Jatukrit, 25, on a stone breaker after he had been helped by locals.

His hands were burned and it is believed there was a lightning strike attracted by his fishing rod.

He was unconscious and barely breathing. He was given CPR and taken to Rayong hospital, later transferred to Bangkok Rayong Hospital in a critical condition.

Another man who was unnamed suffered minor injuries and was also taken to hospital.

Poor fellah, hope he pulls through.

There has been some serious (un-seasonal) lightning and thunderstorms here on the East coast this last week. ????

Because of the high humidity they have been sending up the Rain Making planes every day, with a good success it would seem!

It can work quite well if the conditions are right for it.
