Xiaomi Mi S4 TV Box - No Navigation Bar (at screen bottom)

Featured Replies

Yup - would like to have a Navigation Bar (with at least Back, Home, Recent buttons) on the screen bottom, that you can slide in and out of view, as per a more "normal" TV Box. Tried a few from Playstore, by sideloading them onto the Mi S4 and hoping that one would at least function, but none of them did. The Playstore version on the Mi Box doesn't show any Nav Bar apps at all (that I could see).

Yes, I know I can use the remote for that sort of thing, but I tend to mostly use a mouse to navigate around, so a decent Nav Bar would be extremely useful.

Hmm - any of you guys have any success with installing a functioning Nav Bar on a Mi Box S4?

Thanks for any input ????

Cheers

It's androidtv, that option is not available.

Plus the official androidtv devices (mibox s) certified by Google are not customizable by some kind of hack to change the official interface.

You may have to look at one of the other type of android boxes which have that bottom nav bar.

Thanks for the reply....

Yeah, androidtv system does sometimes prevent you from doing what you want to do - though it IS possible to install a good many "normal android" apps that function very well - and I rather suspect that perhaps there's such a "normal android" Nav Bar app that would actually work on the Mi Box. The problem is finding the correct app, eh.

Still, let's hope someone has an/the answer.

Cheers  ????

Had a few hours to spare yesterday, so got stuck in by myself and fixed the problem (along with some other things), so now have the desired Navigation Bar.

Works just fine.

Happy New Year! ????
