Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha addressed the nation on COVDI-19 situation. He thanked related agencies and the general public for cooperation to managing the latest outbreak of COVID-19 in Samut Sakhon. He reiterated that COVID-19 remains a significant threat to the country.

Prayut said the worsening outbreak in many other countries will definitely have a negative effect on Thailand. The country must be prepared for it. The global economy will take longer time than expected to recover and strict measures for the screening of foreign travelers entering Thailand will be essential. Since the global situation is worsening, Thailand has to impose stricter measures.

In the coming days, the government might make further announcements, such as measures related to whether New Year activities will be allowed with strict measures or be banned outright, he said.

Mr. PM, it's your job to make doubly sure that there will be no' reckless few' in theses times of crises, but you and your government has dropped the ball big time time so please, don't blame others, you're the the PM and ultimately the sole responsible to what happens in this country...

Isn't that true for most problems? From football hooligans to drunk drivers and many more......

Does the "reckless few" include the Thais that are involved in the illegal border crossings? Becase they are just as much to blame as the Myanmar workers carrying the virus.

Having escaped from western COVID and lockdowns and just spent two weeks in quarantine I need my freedom back and I need to have a good time. I won't let this....guy stand in my way.

Exceptionalism and selfishness are root cause of this new Thailand outbreak if reports are to be believed. Individuals thinking rules do nat apply to them, or what harm can it do if just they break the rules? It's the same in all western countries and particular pain in the backside in the UK.

So yes, a reckless few can ruin things for everyone

Yes, he wasn't beating the "blame the farang" drum quite hard enough. That's what gets results. ????
