I thought her the queen of the land.

Her snakes hung over her shoulder,

tied up with a big elastic band.

Oh. That's nice. :o

I am also the proud owner of an Irish passport.

I knew that :D

Anybody who can find a video of Luke singing, 'Simplicity', just has to be Irish. :o

And I still owe you a drink for that.

Wow Moss, you're a mine of information. I have not heard that song for years and even just thinking of it sends shivers all over me!

I have copied Patsy's post, I am not sure if it will work.

As you are not in Thailand, go to the YouTube thread, I think it is post 94, as Patsy says, Enjoy.

Cheers Moss! This brings back memories of sitting around blazing fires in country pubs singing along with all the lads sinking a few (or lots) of the black stuff! Thanks!

Thanks for the welcome Suegha.

Nice to see so many of us here.

Hi Tayto, I originate from South Dublin which many people consider to be part of Ireland. We actually have a DART link which connects us to North Dublin and other parts of your fantastic country. You will be pleased to hear that they also sell Tatyo there too.

I would give you a nice welcome message in Irish but I don't know any. According to my mum I did study it in school for years but I must have blanked that part of my life out.

Welcome again

Thanks.

Born in Derry and reared in Donegal, had many blackouts as well.

I would give you a real Irish slogan here but the last time I posted it, a bigoted member cautioned me, so a fella has to be careful with his language around here.

Slainte.

Slainte is good enough for most of us. Wonerful Derry followed by wonderful Donegal. I have good friends from both places. I'm originally from Dublin and have lived in Liverpool for many years. Look out for Moss - Top bloke!

Jeez, Louise....overrun by Irish.....tis a Celtic sickness, methinks :o

Last name is Griffith. Welsh. All my Brit friends take one step back, when I tell them.

Maternal grandfather born in East Anglia, but moved to Irish Free State circa 1898 or so. When the Great War began, he enlisted in the Royal Irish Horse as a horse tender, being a farm boy. Got a warrant officers' commission early on, and became a pilot in the Royal Flying Corp (RFC, predecesor to the RAF). Flew in WWI; I have all his pilot logs and insignia as well as many stories he told me.

He had British citizenship, but always considered Ireland his home country, even after emigrating to the US in the 1920's.

So can I be Irish too.....?

You most certainly can!

If you go back far enough we are all Celts really!

Welcome Tayto to Bedlam.

Welcome Tayto, most welcome.

I would give you a real Irish slogan here but the last time I posted it,

I remember the slogan T, it deserved to be pulled, as I remember it caused considerable consternation.

It is Tigs, it is and thanks for the above.

Good little story McG, a little to early for the free state, but love the sentiments regarding the Grandfather.

Tigs is the Boss around here, if he says you can, you most certainly can.

Welcome again to Tayto and McG

Ah, Moss, you're a mate! I was going to mention the small detail about it being a bit early for the free state, but thought better of it. Where I come from we consider it always a free state, regardless of the occupation! :o

One for the morning glory, two for the early dew...

Welcome Tatyo

enjoy

You are absolutely correct...when he passed away, there were 3 old expired passports. Oldest was British, then Irish Free State, then Republic of Eire.

He emigrated to the US in the early/mid 1920's.

He went back a few times, to Ireland. Always refered to it as the "Old Country"

And he seemed to always favor John Jameson whiskey....my sister and I found most of a bottle in his cupboard, and gave him a proper Irish wake after all the English had left..... :o

That's a good 'un!

I was doing a search (yeah really!)............and came up with a sub forum called "Bedlam"........and now I am here (guess I should have read the rules and would have known about it beforehand!)

Two questions:

1) So is the place for talking about folk behind their backs?

2) Do TV frown on / automatically block multiple Identities?

Well, first of all welcome!

In answer to your questions: it's a place to talk about people in front of their backs!

Yes tv does frown upon, or automatically block multiple identities - what would ya want to do that for anyway!?!

welcome jersey.

now i thought this was the official thread to welcome EVERYONE?

no exceptions.....

looks like we keep changing our own rules...maybe you all have been in thailand too long :D following the path of the generals who tear up the constitution whenever it suits them :o
