The difference is that we are not bound in the future by EU rules.

Nor having the benefits of already existing EU rules and agreements, ageed upon when a British PM was member of the EU council ( the only decision body) and a British councellor was in the executive board, also called EU Commission. Ratified by the EU parliament, with.. again.. also 75 British elected members.

We trade with all kinds of 'devils'..including Saudi and China but note we are trading with Turkey NOT GIVING free right of entry and freedom of movement to every Turkish citizen. Brexit is paying off already.

UK was already trading with Turkey under EU rules, the OP is only a rollover on existing agreement. Turkey is not a member of the EU, with the current political situation in Turkey will never be an EU member.

Maybe learn a bit more about UK politics, plenty of councils present.

Quote

There are five types of local authority in England: county councils, district councils, unitary authorities, metropolitan districts and London boroughs.

So you want to make an issue about I should have inserted "EU", just for you.

OK, in future I will make allowances in case you are reading.......????

As I say above, Great Britain and Northern Ireland are geographical terms. The United Kingdom is the political union of the four countries making up these geographical areas.

The Isle of Man and the Channel Islands are Crown Dependencies and not part of the UK.

I know that and some more but was expecting @transam to explain

Yes, it would make sense to just roll over the EU agreement and use that for a few years. That way there is minimal disruption for UK trade with Turkey. Once things have settled down post Brexit and post Covid we can work on a more tailor made option between the 2 countries.

Unless Turkey is finally accepted into the EU of course.

And lets not forget all the purveyors of DOOM, UK could never do trade deals by itself, it will take years to negotiate deals etc, etc - Time is telling this story, not those with their (already) broken and failed predictions.
