Bought the first one November  2018 bought a  second due to insane  discounts  (300K) August 2020 got 100k discount first time round

Likes , style, ride comfort handling, performance, price

Dislikes, Dealer network , sparsely located  outside of  BKK,have yet to receive good  service, mediocre at best, lack of training in how to fix  minor  issues such as refitting  small trim pieces but this  is  not  limited to Chevrolet this is  more a  Thai  lack of service thing  anyway had  Toyota before  had  small issues with that  also, the helpline 1734 people are  clueless often give wrong information and when I cross examine them they change their  mind, apologise and give  me the correct answer............questions such as can I use b10-B20 in the vehicle  come back with a  "NO"  only for me checking and saying I can use B10 for sure  do they then correct it and say oh  YES can use B10 but not 20 which is correct.

Also in typical Thai style, I asked for a English manual,..............."have to do process" they say, go to dealer give them vin  number , name address passport blah blah.........I told them NAHHHHHHHHHHH not driving 40km to do that just send me one, few  days arguing with them and they sent me one  in the post without any of that nonsense, process this  process that, stuff  that for a  game of conkers.

Getting into these high vehicles I dont like as always seem to bash my  head on the roof seat sees  high to roof  level, but when am seated  theres  plenty of  headroom..

Faults in both vehicles the same, touch screen failed to work correctly from new in both, both replaced under warranty.

Poor  pdi in both cases, two different dealers, windscreen washer  bottle  hose  not connected in one, cleaned inside  bonnet beautifully  though, window sticking in one, known fault, never  had the problem since in either vehicles.

Seat  in one cosmetic stripe  in fabric not  picked up  in pdi and then had to fight with them to replace it as they claimed it was wear and  tear.....I  pointed  out how could this  wear and tear  occur as it was brand new. dealer  replaced it, failed to tighten seat  bolts  down correctly, think they used outside contractor to do the seat cover, new  cover fits  fine, sent them photos of their seat cover  bolts incorrectly tightened.

All  minor  issues, nothing major.

Joined the Thai  Chevrolet Facebook website, see many have torque  converter  issues on autos about 20%  fail I have one auto one manual..

No problems with parts, I  like the 15k service interval  on one and dislike the 10k service interval  on the second one, especially when they say their dexos  2  full synth  oil can last 20k  miles, never got a sensible  answer  why pre 2019  models can go 15k before  changing oil yet 2020 models revert to 10k, seems  just  like  a  scam to give dealer s more  work as they have closed down sales and maybe wanna  boost their aftermarket work for dealers. Engines the same.

Best thing about both was  price but more so with the second one, they are a  steal 525k reduced from 799k first 1million reduced from 1.1 also included  all the normal freebies, they were very  willing to  haggle  on both occasions.

Due  to their withdrawal also many cheap genuine  parts  available including the sportbar just 5  k reduced from 21k, alloy wheels  3900 set  ( I  bought two spare  sets different style)

Im not  bothered by secondhand value I keep them for around 10  years anyway, last toyota had 10 years use bought off a friend 6  months old paid 380k(he paid 760k) sold for 290k

Our local " Cockpit " franchise owner has two Chevy's SUV & truck they service all car/truck type vehicles.

As for fixing body trims and other body parts find a local body repair shop for that kind of work.

I have had my 2.7 turbo diesel Colorado for 12 years , and have found it very reliable and providing a very smooth and well powered ride.

You are correct about the Service Centres , very poor service , and literally NO service here in Phuket when they closed down for 2 years. I needed a rubber 'boot' supplied and the new place  took 50% of its price in deposit , then told me they would call me in TWO MONTHS to say it arrived !

About 6 years ago the clutch was slipping and the new one was installed incorrectly  by Chev Phuket  ( cost 16k) and another shop (  Chev Krabi)  showed me the issue and had to install a new one ( 17k). They would NOT , however , supply me with a letter to show Chev Phuket , even tho only 800 kms had elapsed between  new clutches ..  Now 30k kms has past by , and I note the seal  Krabi  installed has a slow drip.

But all up , this has been an extremely reliable truck.

I would have happily recommended Chev to anyone , and thought the last ones a bargain , but imo parts  will be increasingly hard to  get , and unlike the older ones , not possibly  interchangeable with Isuzu ...

I guess a lot of people thought that , and thats why they had to sell them so cheap... a true "Run Out Sale".

Had  a 2012 Chevy Colorado  stick shift, sold it five years later because we were back in the US for work and did not think we would come back often enough to warrant keeping a car there. We never had a problem with it to have experience with the service.

Selling it was a big mistake because the wife ended up coming back often and spending more time here than we thought she would, especially when her mom got sick and eventually died. and we were spending way too much money renting so we bought a late model used Mitsubishi mirage for the same money we got for the Colorado  LOL .

I was very disappointed that Chevy stopped doing business in Thailand, as soon as covid alowes will be coming back to Thailand, and I would not have a problem buying another one. IMO they are the best looking trucks available.

Those are  a pair of nice looking rigs bodga!! I like the four door.

What do you think about buying a late model used one?

There are  still some new  ones  kicking  around, have read of problems with about 20% of the AUTOMATICS when the torque  converter fails, worldwide, I have the manual and auto, keeping fingers  crossed on the auto although mileage on that is  very low, 13k in 2  years.

I dont know enough about the secondhand market BUT knowing Thais penchant for lack of maintenance id steer  clear of anything I didnt buy myself from new.

Chevrolets  website  now contains almost no information at  all and in poor  English informs  you that English is  no  longer available on their site despite them leaving up the "en" icon to click on. Yep  poor  service  guaranteed,  roll  on changing my own oil and filter in the next few  days.
