WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrat Joe Biden was cleared to be sworn in as U.S. president on Jan. 20 when Vice President Mike Pence declared that Congress had confirmed the Electoral College tally of states’ results that showed Biden the winner of the Nov. 3 contest against incumbent President Donald Trump.

This is from Trump's speech to the demonstrators

"We will never concede. It doesn’t happen. You don’t concede when there’s theft involved,” he said shortly before the mob began moving toward the barricades."

Therefore, since Trump has conceded, we must conclude that there was no theft.

Try again, you lost his supporters right after the word "therefore".....not enough vitriol, too confusing and just too many syllables for them to be able to comprehend .....

, trump not stay, trump go home, you go home now ok?

Trump has said there will be a peaceful transition of power. But I'm afraid of what he'll do before the 20th, and maybe on that day as well.

Trump pledges 'orderly' transition after riot and Biden win certification

(CNN)President Donald Trump publicly acknowledged that he would leave office on January 20 for the first time Thursday, pledging an orderly transfer of power after Congress affirmed President-elect Joe Biden's Electoral College win.

"Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th," Trump said in the statement, repeating false claims he has made throughout the last two months. "I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it's only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again."

Trump, who has refused to concede the election, had on Wednesday egged on supporters who would later storm the US Capitol in an attempt to stop lawmakers from counting the electoral votes. The riot left four people dead -- one woman was shot and three others had medical emergencies, according to police -- and left some in Trump's Cabinet holding preliminary talks about invoking the 25th Amendment to remove him from office, according to a well-placed GOP source.

Diminished standing of America with every other nation.

Increased unemployment and debt.

Republican majorities in Congress and the Senate gone.

A nation riven with partisan hatred and racism.

Delusional to the end, greatest first term in presidential history my foot.

I'm going to give Pence the "Dutch Boy" award of the day for basing his decisions on the truth and logic of yesterday's events. If no one sees the previous threats of violence against him as evidence that he refused to do something unscrupulous , then I'll gladly compensate you for a new pair of glasses.

We're seeing what they saw in Warsaw, Germany, Italy, Zimbabwe,Rwanda and many other countries past and present.    Ironically , the one thing about falling off the top tier of Democracy was the fact that no one would be willing or  strong enough to step in and help us help ourselves.  The Pyrrhic victory of either side would leave the US completely vulnerable to it's rivals who would divide the spoils of a war that we fought against ourselves.

I don't think so. I think he's whooped and knows it. Maybe his next stop is St. Petersburg, and not the one in Florida.

I was thinking the flight that was booked to Scotland, ostensibly to play golf one day before Biden is inaugurated, might have been the first stage to Moscow.

Don't forget the biggest security breach in history that he refused to directly blame the Russians for.

I think Sturgeon banned his flight.

He made a speech inciting a crowd to riot and take the senate and congress by force. In what world is that not a crime.

Lock him up. Lock rudy up, lock jnr up,lock eric up.

There can be no excuse for what happened yesterday. They are not above the law.

She did. The words she used were "not welcome in Scotland".

Imagine that, the most powerful man in the world being told to rack off by a female no less, the leader of a  comparatively tiny country. Took me all the way back to Peter Sellers in "The Mouse that Roared".

Judging by the number of failed legal challenges he had, I would have thought he'd be used to tilting at them.

Good now lock him up put that abomination on trial make him PROVE there was election fraud if he fails off to prison for inciting insurrection imo he’s a straight up traitor enough!

It can now only be hoped that Trump is to some degree aware of the issues legitimate calls for accountability in the basket of issues his overall but certainly his most recent attempts to attack and destroy the basis of the US Constitution which he originally falsely vowed to uphold.

Also given his well established vindictive nature it could be that as a final gesture in compelled  departure he would be tempted to figuratively " toss a grenade"  into the Oval Office by demanding some military  action against such as Iran . Good sense would suggest such an action would be  deferred for confirmation by the incoming Commander in Chief in any case were it not  defensive but the  evidence  is/has  been clear in demonstrating Trump has encouraged  no less suicidal compliance to tragic  effect !

Biden is announced as President Elect, no other outcome was possible, but he doesn’t take office for another 14 days and Trump’s narcissistic extinction burst isn’t done yet.

According to Trump supporters there was a data dump coming during the final approval of the electoral college results in the House and Senate that would prove massive fraud and upend the election results. Well, the data dump never happened, surprise!, surprise!,  but Trump did take a figurative dump on the Capitol.

Can America take the risk of letting him go to Moscow?
