The Anti-Corruption Organization of Thailand (ACT) is one of the most feeble and ineffective of all the tools Prayuth has used to deceive the people into believing that he is fighting corruption. Who was the last high level authority, in the police, immigration, the army, or the active administration they arrested, charged, tried convicted, and sent to prison? Nobody. Zero. Nunca. Nada. Will these guys be looking at a conviction? Of course not. At most a transfer, at full pay. After all, Prayuth has promised to protect them, and he has spent all his might, for six years doing so. it's laughable that when he put himself into power, he said that he was going to eradicate corruption .. ????

In Aus when the young cops start they get Transferred to another city /town every 2 years so that they can't get a real foot hold in their district for corruption. I am sure that there are very many honest jobless men and women who would jump at the thought of a job. I don't think that firing the whole police would make that much difference in solving the crime rate and it may well improve. They could fire the whole army as their results are worse than the police. Get rid of the unelected senators as well, plus ALL the current politicians and Thailand would be a far better, richer and happier place.

Corruption is everywhere, it's just more blatant here. First world countries governments have the brains to cover their corruption up, it seems a lot more blatant here because both the soldiers and normal governments do not have the brains to cover it up.

And that line of utter nonsense was intended for either the most naive amongst the population, those made desperate by years of infighting, or those who are traditionalists, and believe everything they are told by authority. Regardless, anything, absolutely anything that can be done to limit the power of the army, and the toxic and corrupt senators they appointed, is a good thing for the nation. The dinosaurs must be made extinct. And the youth must be allowed representation or control. Total control, if possible. They are the only ones who can move this nation forward, and stop the heinous and regressive army. The government (or more realistically those to whom it reports) must rely upon the military to keep it in power. It was put into power for one core function; to prevent the nascent political, social and economic liberalisation of Thai society which arose with the arrival of new technologies and communications, which have allowed a (younger) population which has long been kept ill educated and dependent for any advancement on its elders and sponsors, to communicate, educate themselves and develop business and more creative minds, independent of those elders and sponsors. The Covid crisis is in a dimension beyond that, and it's timid, chaotic "rabbit in the headlights" response to the challenges it brings are simply because it does not know how to react, other than to use some of the opportunities to exercise power, in pursuit of that core function, which the social and political restrictions they argue the disease has necessitated give them.

Shock turned to anger within weeks when a £460m hole was discovered in the pension funds of his companies.” It's not a derogatory LOL icon. It made me laugh as I got involved with the Maxwell embezzlement from an insurance perspective.

Seems wrong to me that the investigation is being conducted by RTP ? Also seems wrong that none of 189 senior Police officers have been reported as being dismissed from the service. That's why they investigate themselves
