(Photo by Jack TAYLOR / AFP) Not a single new COVID-19 infection has been reported in Thailand’s coastal province of Chon Buri today, one of the five Red Zone provinces. Dr. Vichai Thanasophon, deputy provincial health chief of this eastern province, said Tuesday that this is the first time since December 19th, when infections were first reported in the new wave, that no new cases have been found. He said, however, that there is still the need for pro-active screening, as there may still be people who are infected but asymptomatic. champers Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 (edited) There was one yesterday. If there has to be a continuous period (14 days, 30 days, whatever) without a Covid infection found then it is back to the beginning today. Edited January 19, 2021 by champers

Oldie Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Chon Buri and here especially Pattaya always had very low rates even last year. Somehow amazing if you think how many Chinese have been here at the beginning of last year. Perhaps the virus doesn't like Pattaya? If science finds out why then we don't need vaccinations anymore. Also why Thailand in general has so little cases is interesting. Perhaps the chilli in the food? Not enough testing? The hot weather? What else?

Picking some fruit. You come back and feel like new. Well I am missing the birds I guess during lockdown. But trust me, I did this already and it soon wears thin after a day or two. Pleasant for a spell, enjoy the peace and quiet... but being bitten by bugs, termites flying up my nose, boredom sets in....And to be honest I feel the Mrs benefits from the time away from me, and has a much better time without me there too.
