Being save in the Bathroom

Drilling into a porcelain sink is probably not advisable. How about gluing the handle?

Purpose is: safety against slippage.

Here a sample drilled into concrete. Benefit of the grip over the length of  the sink,  in case of imbalance = without thinking finding a halt somewhere.

How to do it on a porcelain sink?

You can drill a basin but it would need more than wall support it would need something similar as the ground support shown in the pix.

Easy as mate.

All you need is a appropriate sized masonry bit for the plug that you're going to put your screws into, say 6.5mm drill and green plugs.

DO NOT under any circumstances use a hammer drill function, the porcelain used in basins is usually quite soft and your normal drill on a slower speed will work fine.

Dip the tip in a cup of water often to prevent excessive heat.

Before drilling put something like gaffa  or a similar thick tape  on the area / s you are going to drill, it helps to keep the drill bit in the  exact the spot you want to drill - - straight onto the hard surface the drill bit will want to "run off"  on the porcelain, I would also start with a small masonry bit to give a pilot hole.

Absolutely, thick tap is very important.

Also try to use a small bit for a pilot hole and if needed bore out with larger bits subsequently.
