Looks as i the sign is way older than 5 years and the University of Phayao has only existed for 10 years as such.

Wikipedia says University of Phayao established 1995 and stuff rusts pretty fast here, but will admit Google search for ม. พ. does turn up a number of other universities which share the same abbreviation. Knowing where the sign was found would probably help narrow things down a lot.

It's upside down.

M.P.

Indeed.

Manhole covers from Pattaya (M.P. = mueang Pattaya, Pattaya city)  show this.

I can never refrain to notice when walking in Pattaya

But the photo seems to show the emblem separated?

Must admit that I only see manhole covers without the dots (.) between the letters and can't remember that detail.

Wish a local could check.
