Police officers in Bangkok have been instructed to deal with traffic jams due to the reopening of schools on Monday.

Deputy Metropolitan Police chief Pol Maj-General Jirasan Kaewsangek said on Sunday that the move was in response to the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration easing lockdown measures and allowing reopening of schools nationwide.

He said over 3,000 police officers will be deployed to areas thorughout the capital, especially in front of schools to facilitate traffic from 5.30am onwards.

He added that Bangkok Mass Transit Authority was instructed to inspect its buses before providing services.

"Rapid deployment units with towing cars will be deployed in case of road accidents," he said.

He asked motorists to plan their trip and check traffic on each route before leaving.

OK! I'm all for the protection of kids at school gates.

BUT I count 12 cops at that gate, not counting the 2 with caps

with their backs turned.

Surely they could be more organised!!!!
