BANGKOK (NNT) - Bangkok Expressway and Metro (BEM) has installed tap-and-scan points on the Si Rat-Outer Ring Road Expressway and the Udon Ratthaya Expressway (Bang Pa-in-Pak Kret).

Contactless payment can be made with a Visa debit or credit card (PayWave enabled) or a Mastercard (Paypass enabled) from Friday onwards.

The procedure is simple and convenient: stop at the booth, lower the window and touch the card to WiFi-like symbol on the payment device.

Isn't this just the same as the easypass but still going to hold up lines as the cars need to stop open the window and place the card ? Why not let everybody get an easypass machine and make all lines only easypass and get all the moneybooths out of the equation . Seems doable to me since everybody needs to pay anyway so what's the problem of forcing people to get easypass . Still will have some buffalo's that will hold up the line because they forgot to top up their balance but that's nothing new to what's happening these days already . I think that will get a better flow of traffic at the tollway booths then the one there is now .
