  • What a load of codswallop....13th healthiest, somebody is taking some substance that they shouldnt coming up with garbage like that.

  • In what crazy universe would the number of take-aways a city has be an indicator of its health?

  • exactly, some people are so gullible that they believe this kind of statistical BS.  Two or three days was always the maximum that my head, ears, eyes and throat could stand in Bangkok at any one time

FAAAAAIIILLLLLL

Yes, and this is reflected in the scoring. Only Beijing, Jakarta, Mumbai, Mexico City and Sao Paulo are scored worse than Bangkok for pollution.

Hold on a minute while I get some fried sticky rice and grilled pork to enjoy while I read this

My prostate always remains very healthy when visiting Bangkok.

13th Healthiest city in the world?????  You are having a laugh!

It just happens to be a dirty sprawling  mess of polluted air, noise and uncontrolled vehicles.

Oh well the TAT will enjoy the laugh.

Make the authors of the report breath the air and drink the water, take a walk and ride a motorbike for six months if they survive, then perhaps they may want to review what they wrote.

OMG  and the Philippines is the richest country on this planet, right?

   Bangkok's air is breathtaking.

I guess all the big cities on this list have pollution problems.  You get to see a lot of places, museums and temples, and eat at lots of good restaurants, just do not go running in the parks on a bad

air day.  Yes you can run in the parks, just do not try that on street side walks as the vendors will have them

blocked, just as they always have.  Nice report though.

Geezer

The pollution is only one factor they considered, and Bangkok is marked very low for this.  However, it gets high scores for other factors.  Have you read it?

No. 2021.

All borders are closed so their test was through a dated online report/app from 1995?

Their next report will be that JFK is visiting Dallas on 22 November this year.

Yes, and sadly in the UK by the looks of it:-

" a recent ‘Healthy Lifestyles Cities Report’ study by UK health authorities"

Bangkok has been named the 13th healthiest city in the world

no doubt about that! but again we don't talk about trafic jams and air pollution

This report is based on a study and I quote (from the UK report itself):-

"According to a study by YouGov, almost half of Brits stated improving fitness (47%), losing weight (44%) and improving diet (41%) were among their most important New Year’s resolutions for 2020. It’s no surprise that millions of people worldwide enter each New Year with the hope of taking better care of themselves, whether that’s signing up to the gym or eating healthier.

However, fitness and diet are not the only measurements of healthiness - although they do play a big part. Sometimes it’s about our surrounding environment, as well as lifestyle choices.

The team at Lenstore has analysed 44 cities across the globe to uncover where it’s easier to lead a well-rounded, healthy lifestyle. From obesity levels to pollution rates, each city has been scored across 10 healthy living metrics. One question remains, do you live in the best city for healthy living?"

Please note "most important New Year's resolutions for 2020" so I presume the survey was possibly conducted pre coronavirus on Brits only.

As a global institution, I would think they used data/statistics from their staff based in these countries?  Why not review their methodology?

Those factors are included and taken into account.

Like to know what are the 44 cities surveyed. Mumbai, Mexico City,  Delhi to name a few. Still hard to see Bangkok number 13.

13th out of 44... I'm sure there are more than 44 major cities in the world, most of which will be 'healthier' than Bangkok.

BostonRob2, there are capital city bashers everywhere. I'll contend that Bangkok may not to be everyone's taste but would also disagree about "the rest nowhere" being a thing. There are some great places in Thailand and it's not all about one place or another. The freedom to mix and match and go where one pleases is part of the attraction here. IMO: It's all good.

Great this along with the lower covid numbers are something to be proud of!
