Rush was very honest about what he was and he didn't give a toss. I respect that even if I don't agree with his opinions.

It's the hand wringing, self loathing, "liberal", virtue signaling hard left luvvies who shout from the rooftops about how righteous they are who are the hypocrites. Some of the comments on this thread are great examples of how quickly their nasty, distasteful side becomes so apparent as soon as someone they disagree with passes away. Hardly the moral high ground is it, reveling in someone's death...

This thread is gold, rarely have I seen a better example of their hypocrisy. The fact they don't see it makes the irony even more delicious ????

Keep it coming.????

And I dont give a "Toss" about Horrible people.....cry more.....may he rot...."they dont see"?...open your eyes friend....love your Them vs US....such a uniter you are, as was addict "Rush"

  • Good riddance. I hope he packed summer cloths  'cause where he is going would be very hot.

  • Well would'nt that bring a tear to a glass eye! Some may miss him, many won't!

  • I use to really like Rush. Then he lost the plot. Conservative media outlets like his are destroying America.

He will be remembered by the books written about him

There is a difference between expressing an opinion and putting concerted effort into convincing others to see things your way.

Also, it seems he had a problem relating to women.

Sad times when someone respects an individual who lies, berates others and spreads conspiracy theories. Shows why the US is in such bad shape.

Typical of his supporters. Deny, deflect, and blame  "liberals ". Doubt you even know what a liberal is, much less liberal policies.

Amusing how you seek to label me one of his supporters, I guess a strawman is handy in such a situation. I guess you've lost the concept that it is possible to show respect to someone with whom you disagree. You could never do such a thing and therefore assume others cannot also.

This is what the left has lost. They just want to cancel or silence their opponents, then finally they rejoice in their death. How virtuous. How morally superior you must feel.

I know what liberal means and in many ways I hold liberal views on many things such as drug use, gay rights, individualism etc. Unfortunately, modern 'liberals' are anything but liberal since they don't tolerate opposing opinions and instead they seek to silence them. They've hijacked the word to mean something else. Similar to the way 'progressives' are anything but progressive in many of their beliefs.

I liked his style in politics! He like others, exposed the establishment and media through out his career while having one hand tied behind his back just to make it fair.

Wait. From your post. Sounds like a supporter to me.

Also sounds like Trump's supporters.

Then right back to bashing liberals. No strawman there.

“just another dead doper. And a dirt bag.”  Which is what Rush said when Jerry Garcia died.

I forgot about that one, even though it became popular again when he got caught buying his own dope with a cigar box full of money.

Also good you mentioned this is relation to the "respect for the dead" sentiments.  (no pun intended)

Such loathsome behavior deserves no respect.

He never did respect passing of others including Robin William which he mocked. Why should he deserved to be respected for his passing.

555 Couldn't one say he is part of the establishment? Or maybe you prefer another sports team? He also never debated much, if I'm not mistaken.

I wouldn't waste my time reading his obituary, though I do get a certain amount of pleasure knowing that it's out there.

Enough of your pearl clutching and faux indignation. There's no moral high ground for you here.

There's is no 'respect' granted simply because the man was horrible; he slandered all and sundry, he belittled those with no voice, he was racist, homophobic, mysogonistic, a climate change denier, a conspiracy nut, he helped fuel the lie that the election was rigged and of course was a big friend to DT.

You don't have to be a liberal to hate all these things; you just have to be a normal, sane member of society. If you want to 'show respect to someone with whom you disagree' you are of course free to do so but don't be surprised when you get called out on it. And it has nothing to do with not 'tolerating opposing opinions'  and certainly has nothing to do with trying to 'cancel or silence opponents'. It does however have everything to do with whom you are trying to 'respect' much in the same way if you came on this forum and tried to 'respect' Hitler, Pol Pot or Idi Amin.

EVERYONE should be denouncing the likes of Rush Limbaugh who literally added nothing but derision and hate to the puiblic discourse and tried his level best to ruin America. And you don't need moral superiority to do this; just a basic understanding of right and wrong will do.

Contrary opinions are great as long as they are based on facts. Not alternative facts like you enjoy.

But yes, lots of hate amongst Americans towards Limbaugh and others who spew lies and hate.

To extreme rightists, which are trump supporters its like this...

facts and proof are irrelevant, belief is all they have.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. At his core he was just a disc jockey who  found a niche by making inflammatory statements. His popularity demonstrates  just how large the bigoted sector of that country is.  Archie Bunker may have been a satirical  racist composition but R.L. was the real thing.

Thanks, as I am very proud of responses towards the horror's of Rush's words of hatred. Blaming the people who are holding him accountable is your proof that you are the true follower of hypocrisy.

Don't forgorget this beauty from his few week stint as a NFL commentator for ESPN.

"I don't think he's been that good from the get-go. I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They're interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there's a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."

The player he referred to was a 5x Pro Bowler. He later admitted to being a drug addict during this time.

Rush taught the media that it was more profitable to fire your investigative people in favor of a few talking heads rehashing this morning's headlines for their faithful listeners.  Eventually, there was no investigation going into the morning headlines they were rehashing.

Like most of the talking heads, Rush was great at identifying the problems, but useless at identifying any viable solutions.

I don't celebrate his passing, but I won't miss him.

Rush Limbaugh made his career lying to his audience, stoking misogyny, and fueling racism,” said Angelo Carusone, president & CEO of Media Matters for America. “He entertained listeners by mercilessly mocking and maligning anyone who didn’t resemble his typical listener — straight, white, conservative, and male — and that cruelty eventually became a central tenet of modern conservatism.”https://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/post-tribune/opinion/ct-ptb-davich-rush-limbaugh-death-relects-society-today-st-0219-20210218-2hyxqn5vkfbrdgyzrnpptg7nb4-story.html

I wish they wouldnt refer to him as conservative. There are a few conservatives that a decent people that want whats best for the country. They just have a different methodology in doing it.

This clown was no conservative. He was an alt right conspiracy theorist nutter that stoked hatred in pursuit of a dollar. He was white trash.

Did they bury him so he could be closer to where he is going, or cremate him so he to acclimatize to the heat at his destination.

Indeed and conservative pundit SE Cupp expands on that point.
