BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has confirmed it will provide aid to those impacted by the COVID-19 situation, even after registration for Rao Chana for those without smartphones and in special needs groups has concluded.

Minister of Social Development and Human Security Juti Krairerk, inspected registration for Rao Chana in Samut Prakan’s Bang Kachao sub-district, visiting with Jurai Sukyan, an elderly woman living with two other senior citizens and without any young relatives. Jurai operates a noodle shop and receives senior citizen and disability benefits. Her situation made it inconvenient for her to register for Rao Chana, so the ministry coordinated with Krungthai Bank to facilitate her registration so that she may use the assistance funds in her daily life.

Minister Juti assured the community that all citizens, including those with special needs due to age or disability, will be provided with care, with Krungthai to extend registration in Rao Chana to accommodate such individuals. The ministry itself is to consider further aid measures for those still in need.

Registered citizens can view the result of their vetting from March 15th, and the initial 6,000 baht payout will be transferred on March 19th with installments of 1,000 baht to follow from March 26th onward until the maximum 7,000 baht is met on May 31. Requests to be reassessed can submitted until March 30th on the Rao Chana website with results to be announced on April 7th.

I've heard plenty of reports of people offering to help their fellow citizens who don't have smartphones, their fee being 50% of the money that comes from the government.
