Thai police armed with a search warrant raided a house in Soi Punnawithi Soi 39 yesterday in the Phrakhanong area of the capital after they discovered it was being used as a center for online gambling.

Five Chinese nationals described as investors were arrested. Seven Thai administrators were also arrested, five women and two men all in their twenties.

The Chinese - named only as Wang, Wang, Wern, Wang and Yang - had entered Thailand legally on business visas, reported Daily News

Millions of baht's worth of vehicles, electronic equipment and cash and other evidence was seized.

The house was rented for 200,000 baht.

The operation was offering things like casino games and football betting and 170,000 people had been contacted in what was reported as an operation with a turnover of 30 million baht.

It was running using a games business called "NUTS GAME" as a front.

It was really called DDPoker.

The twelve people were all taken to Phrakhanong police station.
