War on drugs: Inside Thailand’s bitter battle against meth

Featured Replies

Thailand’s meth trade has exploded.

And the deadly addiction leads to devastating consequences.

Sky's South East Asia Correspondent Siobhan Robbins investigates the meth trade the Thai government is desperately trying to take down.

WARNING: This report contains descriptions of torture, violence and alludes to suicide.

I've always thought the war on drugs created a problem where none existed.

Let the people have whatever they want, the cost of drugs will plummet, the need for crime to support your habit will be gone and the criminal gangs will lose their profit and their power.

Collateral damage will disappear, and the money needed to support the jail/army/police war industry will be saved.

The few drug takers that use to excess (who were never likely to contribute to society in the  first place) will remove themselves.

Countries that fight drug instead of legalizing it just deserve the worst !
