There are 2 primary reasons why Thais can return without testing.

Firstly it is not always possible for them to get tested in the country they are flying from unless they display symptoms. (much the same as Thailand in fact)

Secondly they have a right to return to their home country, test or no test.

Regarding foreigners coming to Thailand, the country is applying much the same entry rules as just about every other country in the world is right now.

If you pay for your test, they test you in every country. If you want for free,  then only if you show symptoms.

You cannot be sure of that without knowing the situation in every country and I'm sure you don't. There can be 1 of 2 reasons why a Thai cannot get a test. Lack of availability or lack of funds.

Either way it is one less issue for the passengers to worry about.  and as I've already said they go straight into quarantine anyway, so what's the problem?

The problem has been pointed out on this thread a few times, you just happen to ignore it. Would you care to sit next to or close to an infected passenger on a long haul flight that could result in you hospitalized on a ventilator?

Your first point, thats a problem faced by all nationalities not just Thai's

Second point. Why do Thai's have the right to come back to Thailand without a test first?

Thats not the case in England, UK citizens and international citizens must all show a covid negative test before returning.

Are we talking about the UK and requirements for UK citizens?

Im Australaian and both times it was harder for me to enter my own country than Thailand but that's not really relevant too what the Thai government requires of their citizens now is it?

Oh, just open the planet to the vaccinated and get on with it, it's just silly now.  It's projected that the world's population will grow about 97 million this year. If an extra 3 million die of covid the planet will show no real hiccup in the  long run population explosion. Yet millions are now unemployed, with potentially no future. The cure is out of proportion to the disease.

Exactly but it doesn't stop all the chicken littles and scare porn advocates telling you the sky is falling. Australia probably the worst example where now apparently 4 people is considered an "outbreak"

So are we playing the zero sum game and no one is ever allowed to get it? Insanity.

I guess you didn't bother to read the actual post I was responding to where the poster referenced "every other country in the world is right now."

Hence why I gave the UK as an example.

Do pay attention....................

And once again I say, we are discussing Thais returning to their country on their repatriation flights. Why should the Thai authorities change the rules for their citizens in order to satisfy foreign nationals?

I take your point thanks, yes God forbid Thai's would be at all worried about the health of foreign nationals and the potential for a Thai to infect them on a repatriation flight.

It's more about practicality. It's reasonable to ask foreigners to get tested in their home country if they want to come. I'm sure they would (thankfully) cancel their trip if they knew they had covid.

OTH, it's unreasonable to request all Thai to get tested in any country on Earth, especially since they can't deny them entry. Although airlines may request a test.

As explained, testing does not prevent recent infections from boarding aircraft. Quarantine is the barrier. The examples you gave before were of people who were tested prior to boarding and then spread in on the plane.

I'm aware its more practical but that does not make it right.

This rule that allows Thai's to travel untested on repatriation flights along with foreigners who have been tested as negative is a farce. If they wanted to allow this safely then it should only be Thai's alone on the aircraft, then its no problem.

I can give and have already given plenty of examples of covid cluster spreads on flights, the risk is there.

Its about risk management
