Provinces with travel restrictions as of 14 April

Although many of these provinces are not strict (they rely on the honour system and health volunteers who knock on doors), the message is very clear. Unless you live in one of these provinces, you should stay away until the situation improves.

I take it you can still drive through these provinces on your way home? Can the police stop you?

Absolutely. No travel restrictions for driving on the road.

Millions have left from Bangkok and eastern seaboard up north and will travel back until next week.

I don't want to go into details but how do they want to enforce these restrictions for the visitors during Songkran. Laughable.

Of course there are zillions of checkpoints where you might be stopped and helpers might take your temperature (aside from routine document/alcohol check).
