Phuket to Chiang Mai by Bike.

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Today all flights with AirAsia to Chiang Mai where canceled until at least May 1st.

I need to be there by Tue 2th of my and now I am considering going by big bike.

I have done it before so it's no problem with the distance etc.

Are we allowed to travel between provinces like this at the moment?
Has anyone has been driving from south to north or vice versa the last few days?

Any information welcome,

Thank you!

essential travel is not forbidden. So you have to prepare good excuse.

I would go rather with a thai person as a back up.

Also try to avoid any roadblocks, you never know what they would need. If they decide for a test on the spot, it's 600 baht. Check google maps for any traffic on your route and take detour.

Because of the start of rainy season I would think about bus, there use to be direct one, now probably through bangkok
