Thanks for that. Only Bangkok but still, IMO, they are stretched or they would have increased those numbers. Not a good sign.

I think they are stretched also, although I also think they have the capacity to test far more, the limit of testing seems to be down to the limit of anticipated beds available for new cases.

Testing higher leads to more cases as we all know but they really can't deal with more cases now. Of course this leads to other clusters brewing elsewhere and this show continuing unfortunately.

About a week ago, the authorities said that the 3rd wave has peaked. A dubious claim at the time, and I think we can now safely say that they had no clue.

But these people don't take the blame for their no clue idea.. It's let's try something. else.

everyone saying that they gotta sort out the vaccine rollout, but people seem to be forgetting that it also depends on thais willing to have it, and early reports coming out seem to be they're not that keen.

Very valid point.

I suggest many Thai will give the same reply that my Thai social influencer partner just gave......."I'm not going to take that Sinovac sxxt from China"

Oh, so it was BEFORE the current hi-so infused third wave.

I reckon given the national Covid figures last March, he had every right to pat himself on the back, no? You should post a groveling apology to Anutin "Lucky" Charnvirakul for such a baseless bash, especially after admitting your earlier error on the date he gave the interview.

Your love of Anutin may be misplaced, NanLaew.

Because he sure as hell doesn't love you!

Where have I ever said that I love Anutin?

While you're searching, where have I ever said that a love Thailand like a whole slew of hopelessly misguided forum members claim they do?

And today we have an approximate 25 % jump in positives just at the very though of the new testing.

The increase in positive tests between 7th and 8th was only 4.8%.

Yes the number tested seems to be very similar now to the numbers discharged from the Hospital.

Minus the very sick of course

Its good to see the BMA and Health Authorities ramping up the testing in Bangkok to 3000 per Day  ..... until Tuesday. ????

If i was living in another country and wanted to travel for a holiday Thailand with these current numbers would not make it onto a list of possibilities until at least 2022 or later .

Exactly what I think.

I live in Thailand but came home to Nz January 2020 with the Thai wife and my son.

We have been watching and waiting and were planning to make a move back this Xmas after the lockdown ect.

Now I'm thinking twice about this as I don't want to get covid at my age.

I have not been vaccinated yet, not my turn until June, and I don't want to be vaccinated, nor do I want to force it on the wife and 9 year old, but it's looking like no one will be able to travel without it.

I've got the mother in law staying in our house 2 scared to go out to work in the markets, and she is telling us not to come back yet as Bangkok to dangerous to travel through, she says.

Just as I would not think of visiting

India, as a tourist, I also don't want to come back to Thailand at the moment due to the c 19 problems.

This is yesterday's numbers

Recently I received a link  via Facebook to ZDOGGMD aka Dr. Zubin Damania whose bio includes being a hospitalist.  Not being familiar with the term I read hospitalists are medical specialists who most often earn a residency in internal medicine and

are certified in hospital medicine.

He has some very interesting fact-based podcasts on the Covid situation, on vaccinations and their efficacies, about mask wearing outdoors, about one's temperature as a test for the presence of Covid, about asymptomatic cases, about what they learned about Covid in Iceland and what is now happening in India, and more.

FYI for those seeking another point of view.

What he is not is a virologist or epidemiologist or, in fact, a scientist of any sort.

Zubin Damania (born April 23, 1973)[1][2] is an American physician, assistant professor, comedian, internet personality, and musician. He also has been writing and performing comedic raps as ZDoggMD, an internet celebrity known for his music videos, parodies, and comedy sketches about medical issues, as well as systemic issues with healthcare.[3]

Yeah his podcasts are not the stoic white coat drivel you get from the CDC but they do make common sense of complicated material.  While he is not a virologist he brings the  lot into some  of his podcasts.  If you don't like them, go back to watching the Flintstones.
