BANGKOK (TNA) - Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said the cabinet resolved to give 2,000-baht subsidies through "We Win" and "We Love Each Other" schemes.

The subsidies under each scheme will be offered in a two-week period breaking down to 1,000 baht per week. They would help about 8 million people and the validity period of the schemes is extended to June, Gen Prayut said.

The prime minister also said that almost 2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were used and the cabinet considered the vaccination as one of its national agenda.

why 5k a month last year for 3 months and this time 2k over 2 weeks now things are far worse for people? 2 thousand baht is not much more than an insult, win win and love each other is the equivalent of let them eat cake.

A shabby dump of what Thai call  an apartment costs around 2000thb per month.

Then there are:

Toiletries.

Food.

Water.

Medication.

Laundry.

Clothing etc...

In other words basic living costs.

Thailand is ranked a 3rd world (progressive) country. Not surprising.

Small feet in big boots...

but another friend who's self employed hasn't received diddly squat so far.

So generous!

But like so much of what this "wonderful man" does, is all for show.

He could easily help people more, much more.

2 bloomin' thousand baht? Laughable.

What is the old age pension rate currently in Thailand?

600? 800?

2000 in 2 weeks compare ok.

But if vaccination the agenda, should connect handout to registering for the jab....there would be incentive, a boost for the lackluster try to get ppl sign up.
