2. Cheap.

3. She was way more attractive than I could normally attract with my age/looks/personality.

4. the sex was amazing.

I don't know about RC, but if I were in charge I would have ignored COVID entirely.

The borders, bars, restaurants, and other entertainments would have all been open as normal.

And the old and the sick would have been left to take their chances, isolate themselves, or move to another country.

I think the number one is lack of Thai ability, followed closely by age and naivety.

 

When I was young, single and spoke the language, there certainly was no need to go for a prostitute, despite having some of the attributes you mention ????

Heh, lack of experience wasn't my problem. After my fiance left me, I got ten miserable years of experience trudging through the American dating scene, full of awkward conversations and ridiculous expectations. I wasn't alone either, as handsomer, younger friends of mine with better incomes had the same problem. I finally had enough and bought a plane ticket.

 

Without speaking some Thai, it's unlikely the recently arrived farang will be able to encounter and build relations with the typical factory or office worker. Those who speak good English are often in higher positions, with high expectations, the very same that said farangs hoped to escape. I know because I've been there, having a few dates with a lovely office manager, who while extremely polite and helpful in my initially getting around BKK, soon made it clear that her potential partner should have more than a teacher's salary.

 

Soon after, I met my wife waitressing in a BKK restaurant. ????

I paid 100kbht, in two 50kbht monthly installments, after unlimited use, then 10kbht/month.

It was a little more expensive than 'by the night payments' for the first 2 months, then it was super cheap.

 

Compared to the expense of the Brit wife (around 600,000 pounds + expenses) who supposedly was a free one, and comparing the quality and quantity of the two 'products', the Thai bar girl was an amazing bargain.

In defense of those who "pay for it", I think the principle of paying them not for sex, but to go away after sex, is very real. I found the dating scene a great waste of time; I'd rather be reading a good book. And most "relationships" suck, at least in my case; I'm hetero, but a lot of women are boring. Incapable of love, and proud of it.
