I am hopefully landing in Thailand from Myanmar (you think you have problems !!!). I have gathered everything I need ( I hope) for a non immigration O so that I can get a retirement visa once there but need 6 months insurance for me and my wife. Please could anyone advise on the cheapest way or company I can jump through this hoop. I want as little cover as possible although I know it has to be 100,000$ with no lights and bells attached to the policy.

Also is there a way of getting a cheap place for quarantine. I should have the two vaccine jabs before I get there.

Thanks in anticipation

What is your age and nationality?

What is your wife's nationality?

Do you intend to enter Thailand on a Non O visa, or enter VE or TV and apply for the Non O at a local Immigration office?

Tanoshi.

What is your age and nationality? I am British and 68 years old

What is your wife's nationality? Myanmar 35 years old

Do you intend to enter Thailand on a Non O visa, or enter VE or TV and apply for the Non O at a local Immigration office? The Myanmar Thai embassy say they will issue a non O and I should get retirement visa in Thailand

Thanks for your reply

That is probably medical insurance they are wanting. To issue a non-o visa based upon retirement many embassies are requiring the 40k baht outpatient and 400k baht inpatient insurance but it should on need to valid for the 90 day entry you get from the non-o visa.

The $100,000 covid 19 insurance policy is needed for a certificate of entry and it will only need to be valid for 90 days.

You would apply for a one year extension of stay based upon retirement not a visa.

You wife will need to get a non-o visa for being a member of your family so that she can can apply for a one year extension of stay after you get your extension.

Just tell them you intend to stay only 3 months.
