[VACCINATED PERSON] Can I visit thailand?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I got vaccinated a month ago and I want to visit Thailand... I read alot of articles online about the country opening to foreigner vaccinated people starting from July without a need of a quarantine.

Can anyone confirm this information ?? Any details ?

You may be able to visit Phuket in July, but the details haven't been announced yet.  Everyone is waiting for the announcement.

Don't get too excited about it until they announce all the costs and restrictions.  I would expect it to cost many many times the typical trip to phuket and you may have very limited freedom.

i would watch some youtube vids first. i just watched one of chiang mai. it's a ghost town. everything is shuttered.

Phuket is even worse.  More than 95% of the restaurants, bars and shops in patong,  karon and kata are closed and boarded up.  It looks like the end of the world has come.  I think the first tourists to arrive will be seriously disappointed.  At least the beaches are still nice.

there's also the food issue. i rely on local joints to eat when im in los. im sure grocery stores will be open, but its just not the same.

if local markets, vendors and mom and pop food joints are closed people may want to reyhink a visit unless they are aircon western type people who just hole up in a luxury apt somewhere.

i lived in cm a long time and after watching the vids going out to eat would be problematic, though still possible looks like obe would need to trek around for it.

I haven't been to CM recently, but certainly in the farang tourist ghetto areas everywhere in Thailand eating can be a challenge.  Most everything is closed, and at the couple of open but empty restaurants you see you have to wonder how fresh the food is.

If you leave those areas and go to areas that cater to Thais, you will find the normal selection of delicious thai food.
