CCTV footage posted on Jung Jing showed a Thai man attack a policeman while being processed at a police station in Nakhon Ratchasima. It caused much comment on social media.

Region three deputy in his capacity as spokesman Pol Maj-Gen PhaisanLeusomboon told Daily News that the incident was real and happened at the Kham Thale So station last Tuesday.

Pol Capt Praphan Buasri, 34, needed three stitches in a wound to his forehead that was inflicted by Jakkrapong, 34, who was in for arson, trespass and drug taking.

Phaisan said that police had been called to some properties after annoyance had been caused by repeated knocking on doors. The suspect was caught setting fire to a table and chairs and later admitted to being high on two Ya Ba pills.

He was being interviewed with another policeman nearby. He managed to slip his left hand out of his cuffs and assault the officer with his right hand still cuffed.

In his drug induced state he had confused the officer with being a rival.

He was soon subdued. Station staff had been advised about the proper way to use handcuffs in future.

In addition to the charges already laid one of assaulting a policeman was added and the suspect was ordered held by the Si Khio court.

BIB's are like all politicians. Not a clue on how to do their job.

Not being american it bothers me to see the BiB walking around with guns in Lotus ,7/11 etc.

Yet here was a fine chance to shoot a waste of space .

RTP so incompetent they can't even properly handcuff a suspect? Clearly they have edited the best part of the video, what are they hiding there?

Yep another missed opportunity.

Maybe to suspect says the cuffs were too tight,

so the Police been ever helpful loosened  them

off.... but most likely not put on tighten enough

in the first place..

regards worgeordie

Well there you go I thought there was only one way to put handcuffs on ! maybe they forgot to put his left hand in ! like the good old song You put your left hand you pull your left hand out and you shake it all about !
