anyone know if the rovers/shrewsbury final this saturday is on tv here ?

Better if Brisol win ( not that im a fan ) cos bristols along way away. Shrewsbury is a bit closer and a new ground to vsit. Mindst you where do bristol rovers play these days?

No idea if it on telly or not but ought to be based on the lincoln game.

THE Gas (rovers for the unitiated) play at the Memorial Ground.

Dont know about TV coverage,but be nice if it was. I went to the old Wembly when Rovers played Tranmere in a playoff final....lost!!,but a great day out.So I guess Bristol will be empting on Saturday and taking the chance to see the NEW WEMBLY,...even a few City fans..although they will be satisfied with their promotion to the Championship next year.

as being unintiated...whats the gas? was the old ground near some gas storage tanks?

Ground a bit like chelseas used to be with a dog track around it.

Bristol Rovers (The Gas).

The original ground at Eastville was alongside the Gasworks,with the wind in the right direction the smell was strong.'They had a fire in the old stand(started by Bristol City fans,who needed police protection for a while...so had to move out...went to share Bath City ground and about 5 years later because the Bristol Rugby club were bankrupt Rovers bought their ground at Patchway for a song...so now they play at the Memorial Ground.
