Justice minister Somsak Thepsuthin called for immediate action after the Narcotics Control Board made a heroin smuggling discovery at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Saturday, reported Daily News.

NCB secretary Wichai Chaimongkhol said that 1,650 grams of heroin was found in nine report books in two cases.

The cases were sent from post offices in Samut Prakan and South Samrong and both had the same name and address of sender.

The destination of the EMS packages was Australia.

The seizure came to light after information received from the Airport Interdiction Task Force, Customs and other authorities.

Wichai said there had been 19 cases of drugs being seized that had been sent to Australia since last October. These involved 24.7 kilos of "ice"or crystal meth and 61.64 kilos of heroin.

The NCB are working with their counterparts in Australia on the matter.

Anyone caught on the Thailand end will be executed.
Anyone caught on the Australian end will be given a few years jail time, released early, and allowed to return to Thailand to toke up a position as a Thai MP and possible PM candidate.  ????
