A group who supports the mother of slain three year old "Nong Chompoo" is installing dozens of CCTV and action cameras to prevent witness tampering.

In a major and high profile case in Thailand the little girl was murdered in a village in Mukdahan in the north east in May last year. A celebrity suspect was taken into custody earlier this month.

He was warned at the court when granted bail not to interfere with witnesses. There had been problems in the past with claims this had occurred.

Now supporters of Sawitri Wongsricha have clubbed together to raise 140,000 baht to install 43 CCTV and another ten action cameras at ten houses in two villages.

Two temples where witnesses reside will also be kitted out with surveillance.

Representative for the group Preechalak Ninsingkhorn, 43, told Daily News that people did not feel safe and this was to guard against interference with potential witnesses in the case.

Let's hope they understand they have to be maintained.

So the question is why let him out on bail if there is a risk?

Seems like the locals have more to fear than the courts took into account when granting him bail.

Previously he had apparently interfered with witnesses but that was ignored.
