When to renew extension based on marriage

Featured Replies

Im currently on a 1 year extension based on marriage which runs out on 29th November this year. I have a multiple re-entry permit and will be out of the country during October but will return to Thailand around 18th Nov.

1. How many days will I be given on entering Thailand as extension will end on 29th Nov ?

2. Do I make my second extension application prior to or on the 29th Nov?

any advice would be appreciated when to renew

Start you extension application before you depart in Oct because you will be stuck in quarantine for 14 days when back in Thailand.

That is how I would do it.

Talk to your local IO but I would think this is sound advice.

1. It will end on the 29th since that is when your re-entry permit expires.

2. You will have to do the extension on or before the 29th.

If the 14 day quarantine is still in effect in November you would still be in quarantine when you extension expires.

You could contact your local immigration office about applying for your extension before leaving.

You will then get a 30 day under consideration stamp that will start from the day you apply or from the end of your current extension.

If you are applying Nong Khai as you profile states your 30 day will more than likely start the end of you extension.
