My post to Surin Immigration (Facebook) is saved in my Facebook history. Why would you remove and ignore it? Here it is....3.07pm

Reports of Covid-19 at Surin Immigration. Could you please confirm or deny. Are you still open? Which locations are infected?

It seems the office in the town is closed, due to Covid19, and they are offering a telephone number to call Kap Cheong office.

The timelines of all the Covid-19 affected staff should be posted on the Surin Immigration Facebook page.

Reports of 4 Covid-19 staff at Kap Cheong Immigration, so why is that office still open?

If the information posted here is different to the facts, they should say something, not remove questions posted by worried foreigners.

According to this from another post they were not people working in the office.

This office also has a  Suppression Unit on the south side of the building. They are tasked with the arrest of overstayers. 4 officer were out in the field and contacted and then spread the virus.

".... and then spread the virus."

My Thai isn't great. Is this lady from Kap Cheong or somewhere else?

If it's the lady I think it is from Kap Cheong, her job is "first contact/form checking" for all visitors. She passes the paperwork into a small office for processing by IO's.

I don't think Surin city is in play here. The Immigration office for Surin moved to Kap Choeng near (but not on) the border with Cambodia some years ago. Since we moved to Prasat in March 2017 we have only ever been to Immigration in Kap Choeng.

Then there is the actual border crossing (with of course associated Immigration people) at Chong Chom a few km (5 or so) further on heading SE from Kap Choeng.

Prasat is my town too . I think it is good sense to stay home and isolate cos the virus is carried in the air and normal masks will not help or protect you . Told my lady to close her restaurant so as to avoid people contact and touching bank notes . Repeat , the virus is carried in the wind / air , according to latest scientific studies . Would be no surprise to see shops and bank closures soon .
