Holding a Thai residency permit, I am abroad and plan a return to Thailand. However my return date is schedule past my reentry permit. Is it possible to extend a reentry permit from abroad or due to the present Covid situation is the Thai immigration more flexible about this issue. Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately not. Unless you can bring your travel forward you'll need to start again.

 

Sorry, misread, you actually have PR? In which case, sorry, no idea, haven't seen any similar reports.

OP, your a permanent resident? PR status.

You cannot extend your re-entry permit that you have to keep your PR status valid.

If you were out of the country prior April 7th last year you can use it until the emergency situation is over. 

If after that day then you need to use your re-entry permit before it expires.

Read Ubonjoe advice carefully. 

You need to return to keep your PR status by re-entering prior to expiry of your re-entry permit.

So hopefully you can do that.
