The other side to this story is a guy who has saved up for a while for his "holiday" in Thailand, and now has to deal with bruises, perhaps a "black eye" for the remainder of his holiday, which would personally make me stay in my hotel room until my departure, with many curses towards "safe" Thailand, and of-course, the story told many hundreds of times upon my return to my country. The ongoing repurcussions of such needless violent acts towards innocent tourists causes far greater harm than, I think, the gov't realizes. -

Who the heck is talking about "political activists"? I went to uni in probably the most radical yrs in the 70s/80s... My best profs taught me how to think. Not what to think. My kids profs in the 2000s... The same. What the heck r u on about?
