Does PASSPORT department open during lockdown?

Featured Replies

Greetings,

I've tried to contact Thai passport department hotline to ask if they open during period of lockdown 12 July until 24 July, but to no avail.

Maybe respected forum members know if passport department (either ones in MBK top floor or Southern Bus Terminal) is still open and running for Thai passport 10 year validity?

We are leaving the country soon and wife Thai passport only has 2 years validity, so we want to change it to new passport, possibly 10 years if allowed.

Thank you.

Not sure about it but you could try calling the phone number on this page in Thai. Or the offices shown by clicking the button for the offices you mentioned. https://consular.mfa.go.th/th/publicservice-category/หนังสือเดินทาง

Edit: After looking a little more I found this infographic that lists operating hours from the 12th to the 23rd.

Thank you very much uBonjoe. As always, you are very much resourceful when it comes to Thai immigration.

One more question, do you think it is possible to discard the old passport with 2 yrs validity and get the new Thai passport (either 5 yrs or 10 yrs validity)??

It is not in the government complex. It is on the Chaeng Wattana road.

Same building.

Passports, legalization and etc are all done there at the Department of Consular Affairs.
