From link The man was taken to Karon Police Station and charged with theft and using a vehicle to flee

Does that odd sense of law mean he would have been charged with fleeing the crime scene on foot if he had no bike ?

Imagine this guys luck he moved from America to escape the Karens, then gets robbed by a Karon.

Your post is very misleading for people living in Northern Thailand. Native English (or is it American? ) people please stop insulting the Karens (ethnic group of people ) Never did hear from it until a couple years ago. KLM (not the Dutch airlines). Everybody is sooooooooo political correct nowadays but nobody seems to care about this. The British should now them as they served with honor in their forces during their time in Burma.

Well done the Thai Police for catching this guy so quickly. In the UK they wouldn't even bother to investigate it.

Yep. Credit where credit's due.

Now that's funny. Wish I'd thought of it.

The derogatory  term "Karen" has nothing to do with the Karon Thai ethic group and nothing to do with anything Thai .

Its just a typical Western Female name

So way American people get so upset with "black Peter" "Zwarte Piet" in the Netherlands and Belgium and even talk about it in The UN? There are plenty of derogatory terms that where not derogatory a couple years ago but because of these political correct people now they are. Yet the "Karen" term really is in my view (and I'm not a lefty). FYI the Karens are not an ethnic Thai group, they moved across the border of Burma and are fighting for independence since 1948, promised by the father of Ang Sue See but ignored by the military after the coup that killed him.
