As others have said ......  read ... read ... read ....

The problem with Lazada and Shopee i find is the advertised picture and price and item can be mistaken, they will show two or three items including the one you choose to look at,  they will have a description that is confusing to the header title of the item,

Very confusing ! speaking of smash potatoes of the OP, it's written 257 bahts for one item, but when you add three, four items, it stays 257 bahts, that's why the OP was mistaken ; very confusing ????

may be check the bill just before validate, I think the real number is written

before, I bought ink cartriges, the picture showed 2 items, so I paid for what I tought was two and I received only one

at that time I didn't say anything, but there is a problem, and for me  it's Lazada ' s duty to check this story of confusing pictures

me same ....  I buy potatoes ,   are smash potatoes like the packet of mix mashed potatoes ? I think made by Mcgregor's ....

I’ve had the packets of mashed potato mix and with a package of gravy mix it’s a nice treat when you’ve just had it up to here with Thai food ????

Strangest things become “great” once in a little while!

I found some really good Kimchi at Tesco ChiangMai a few weeks ago and ate mine and a day later ate the wife’s too….but like the smashed potatoes that’s enough for a couple months ????

I'll admit had no idea what a Smash potato was.  Guess been in rice zone too many years.

You mean you never encountered the Smashers?

I did the same, there is a "Batchelor Smash The original Instant Mashed Potato 88 g ", 257 bahts , maybe it's the one OP bought

for me, no doubt, it's well indicated "one piece", so, no fault from the seller

one months ago, I bought a Citizen calculator, but it didn't work

I contacted the seller ( not Lazada ), he asked me to send it back, then he sent back a new one, and this one works well

"for me, no doubt, it's well indicated "one piece", so, no fault from the seller" Technically there may be no fault from the seller, but it is a dirty trick to confuse people. Why did the seller put a price of 257Bt on a one piece item like a packet of Smash that only serves three people? Like I said it is a dirty trick to confuse people.

Sure not saying it wasn’t a trick but also I have found the Thai business skills are so poor I can’t imagine how they survive at all! Advertising skills are laughable and customer service is only up to Thai demands which is a pretty low bar!

we are used to different standards where we come from so we’ll never be impressed!!

There’s one more thing…the translation from Thai to English is so poor that sometimes it just doesn’t make sense at all….put everything together and it’s a recipe for great disappointment for some!

read read read ????

Buying consists of an offer of 275 baht and an acceptance of that by the buyer. Courts in almost any country would throw out your claim as reccomended retail price is not binding. It is the price you accepted that is. Lazada did offer you the right to refuse delivery or return it and will even send you a freight voucher to do so.

I always look very carefully at the product, advertiser/seller and the seller feedback on Lazada.

One of the things I keep an eye out for is a picture showing multiple items but in fact they are only selling you one.

Its not really Lazada's fault, its sellers gaming you. I continue to use lazada for non food stuffs.

When I order stuff from a seller through Lazada, there is a panel that comes up before you pay. It shows you the item, the price and the quantity you have ordered. At that point you have the option of altering the quantity which then alters the price that you pay. If you are happy with what you ordered, then click on pay now, followed by order confirmed, and then you pay.

On Friday I ordered a keyboard for my son's new pc. Stupidly I ordered a second one a few minutes later. I only noticed it in an email from Lazada the next day and I will have to pay for both of them. The fault was mine, and I will accept both and perhaps my son can sell the other to one of his mates.

Billd you can cancel your order any time before itis sent and that is automatic.  If it is sent you will not be able to use the automatic cancel. ( on the trackmy order page) but you can decline to accept the item.  This is recomend by lazada in their conditions.  I have a few times cancelled items with no problems.  My rule to myself is I do nt cncel if it is my mistake and it has been sent but that is just my morality, Lazada lets you do so,  If you receive the items you can still cancel but have to take photos etc.  Refunds if you have paid appear quickly in your wallet and you can either withdraw them or use them for purchases once you have activated your wallet which does need a photocopy of your pasport.

I use lazada extensively and have only had one very short problem with a seller which was very quicky fixed in my favour by lazada (It as really a 50% 50% matter who was right me or the seller.

I didn't realise that but I did catch the second web camera at the check out and pay stage. I cancelled that order and reordered only one webcam.

Yes to this.  Always scroll down from the main listing to the details page.  Usually more specific information about product size and quantity.

OP.  Just do a "Return", "Not as advertised."  I have never had a return denied.

After buying what I thought would be a normal sized door latch for my front door off of Lazada and then receiving a door latch would be better suited on a cat carrying case, I'm now a little more cautious buying online. The door latch photo must of been zoomed in on and in the item description there was no mention of measurements.  I now use the "Ask Question" feature if I have any doubt about an item.
