Sixty one young people arrested at illegal beach birthday party in Songkhla

INN reported on the fallout from a raid on a birthday party held on Wang Nao Beach in Songkhla in which 61 people were arrested for flouting the Covid-19 regulations. 

 

The province is in the deep red zone of restrictions. DOPA officials and Khuanmeet police mounted the raid.

 

Thirty five of the participants were under 18s that were bailed and sent for quarantine earlier.

 

Twenty six over 18s were held in custody overnight then bailed on 5,000 baht each presented by relatives.

 

They were then taken to court to be fined before they, too, would complete 14 day quarantine at centers in their home areas. 

 

Covid test results are pending on the large group.

But they really are invincible from covid. Why should young people stop with their lives because of old farts. They should stay at their homes if they feel endangered and scared. Old people should have more empathy and solidarity and less selfishness towards young people.

I haven't had that complex. There are approximately 70 million Thais and significantly fewer non-Thais. Statistics would seem to lean towards more Thais breaking laws than non-Thais and being caught.

Agree but keep to the restrictions and give everybody a chance to get some immunity through vaccination, not potentially spread  it at an illegal 18/25 beach party  which is what the post referred to.
