webfact Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 By Subhabhong Rarueysong BANGKOK (NNT) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is intensifying measures to curb COVID-19 transmission and to respond to an increase in cases, after assessing the current COVID-19 situation. BMA spokesman Pongsakorn Kwanmuang said they will issue more restrictions to reduce people’s mobility, increase beds to accommodate moderate and severe cases and speed up inoculation, especially of the elderly, pregnant women and people with any of seven underlying diseases. He said there are 65 community isolation (CI) centers in 50 districts across the capital and the facilities can accommodate 8,625 patients. Seven have been upgraded into “CI plus” centers to treat up to 1,036 moderate cases. The Public Health Ministry will also send vaccines to 25 vaccination sites run by the BMA every Monday throughout August. Meanwhile, the BMA is opening six more free COVID-19 testing stations as part of active case-finding in communities. The testing units will use antigen test kits, which can produce results in 30 minutes with more than 90% accuracy. Those who test positive will get a secondary RT-PCR test at the unit to confirm the result. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-08-07 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1

It surely does not look like anyone is restricted in movements when looking out the window... 3 1

Either let the thing go or vaccinate people. Either way there will be casualties. Chooses your poison. Continue crushing the common thai that has no mob money or income
Mickeymaus Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 I am shocked. All the speakers for the news on TV use masks. But this guy does not care. 1

Its very easy to get round the restrictions, yesterday a Burmese lad who once worked for us was in Bangkok at the bus station waiting to get on the bus to me to start work at our land. They told him as of yestedray he CANNOT travel on the buses as we all know only filthy Burmese carry covid.................however Wife then asked the bus depot lady how about we pay for a private bus......oh yes can, and they know where the police checkpoints are and they will drive around them. 3 hours and 2000 baht later the kid arrives with us 260km away form BKK, the only passenger on a bus (unmarked) and dont think we are the only ones doing this theyre doing a roaring trade and no I dont care beacsue the rule is stupid/discriminatory impying ALL and ONLY Burmese or migrant workers carry and spread covid and that the Thais are pure as the driven snow. To be honest the racism is disgusting. 3 1

But there are many words. For instance - I am still looking for the lottery ticket vendor that does not charge me more than the legally allowed 80 Baht. 1 1
geistfunke Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 It is comforting to know that despite all the "panic", nothing significant is actually happening in Thailand. In Thailand, on average, 1,500 people die PER day, for years!!! Is it not completely irrelevant whether now 15 or 150 or 80 or 500 of these dead have or do not have a "positive virus" by a miracle test? What happens if from now on nobody would have to make a test and all tests are simply thrown into the garbage? Right, nothing at all, it remains with daily approx. 1,500 dead, think about it once. I keep using numbers and facts to try and calm people around me. Things like infection rates, recovery rates, etc. All I end up doing is making them angry. It seems that when one is in the full thrall of panic and fear, facts that refute the feelings are unwelcome. 1
it is what it is Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 thankful and relieved that myself and all my thai friends aged 18 and over living in bangkok have had at least one jab, and most two.
