Translation: “Letting people know the truth about how badly we’ve buffooned this crisis isn’t working….it’s time to go back to lying about everything.”

They never stopped lying . The only thing they did was call other peoples news fake news and lies so their own lies didn't look like a lie .

India has had to deal with the Delta variant longer than any other country.    If you take a look at the trend line for infections and deaths there has been a massive decline.  Some of this has been the number of vaccinations.  Though the level of vaccinations alone does not explain the scale of the decline in infection and death.  So perhaps there is a point at which immunity in the general population is attained.  One supposes that Prayut is hoping for the same in Thailand

67 percent,I heard have developed antibodies against COVID in India.

Without vaccination, numbers of new cases dropping.

This could mean herd immunity is alive and well.

NZ’s outbreak of delta has one of the first spreaders infected and spreading c19 Delta whilst fully vaccinated with Pfizer.

Pfizer was rated at 42 percent eficasy against delta, and

moderna 86 percent.

So why hand out sino vac its  not going to be much use.

If herd immunity is working in India Then it will probably work Thailand To

The OP is basically so wrong! Prayuth needs to take an overview of the region.

For the past two weeks, Covid deaths in south-east Asia have been higher than in any other region in the world,

The more aggressive Delta variant, combined with a lack of vaccines, is driving record outbreaks in countries across the region – from Vietnam to Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar. Indonesia, the worst hit, had the highest daily death tolls in the world, with 1,466 deaths reported on average over the past seven days. = th. Grauniad.

There is also now evidence that both A/Z and Pfizer fully vaccinated people can carry the same amount of virus in their nasal passages and unvaccinated people.

Unless Thailand and its neighbours cooperate and review policies that is likely to be a big resurgence.

"Spread is slowing"....."Reach its peak soon"......... Call me thick, but if it's slowing, didn't it already peak then? ???? This guy has the mental capacity of a child.

I think for this one - you can assume he meant the acceleration of the spread is slowing down... one of the graphs that are used is a logarithmic graph.

-record the daily numbers given by thai authorities about patients in "serious conditions" and among them, the patients with "ventilators" (ICUs). Twitter ThaiNewsReport gives those number each day.

-put everything into a spreadsheet.

-calculate the daily progression in %

-make an average 7 days

-plot the data on a chart

What do you see ? A clear downward trend from end of june to now. From +4 % to almost 0 now.

3 explanations possible :

-thai doctors treat better

-the virus is peaking

-the vaccines start to work (reduce the number of severe cases)

A mix of all 3.

Add to the equation the fact that even without any human intervention... a virus always "peaks" (bell shape).

So yes i know it's fashion and easy to laugh about Prayuth... but as a matter of fact... data prove him right.

This Covid "wave" is almost over.

Sorry for the doom lovers.

Its actually very simple ; Serious infections , and by extension deaths , will continue until a large majority of the adult population have been adequately vaccinated.

That scenario is many months away so there is absolutely no basis for short term optimism.

Lockdowns will continue until at least the end of the year to mitigate the crisis , there will be no opening of the country in the near future.

The above is not scaremongering or spreading doom , it is almost certainly a salient reflection of fact

Sugar coating the situation does not alter reality !

If his previous "seeing signs" are anything to go by, Thailand is still in for a torrid 6 months or more.

Surely, he would be better keeping his mouth shut, and using all his energy to obtain vaccines for the people.

He is probably the only one seeing these signs......
