My Thai girlfriend wants to learn to drive the car, and in consideration of my gearbox and our relationship I need to locate a Thai driving instructor with their own car.

Can anybody recommend such a person?

Vulcan ,driving schools on Samui provide vehicles.I think there is one on the ring road in Chaweng & Lamai. They have shop fronts with multiple road signs on them.

Can anybody recommend a Thai driving instructor who they have personally used?

Thanks for your responses

p.s. I'd prefer not to use this guy! :o

If you have the time, which i'm sure you have, teach her yourself,or at least the essential basics like what the mirrors are for and the general safety aspects to a British standard. My missus had about 12 lessons with a local instructor after which he told her to go have her 'test'.I thought i would just give her a few more hours lessons with me,Flip me he hadn't even showed her the mirrors, how to reverse, how to park, well iam sure you are aware there is no 'highway code'.Anyway carried on with a few lessons from me,she soon got bored with the idea.

Maybe I'll try it. What are the Thai words for:-

"Leave the bloody radio alone"

"Lookout"

"Stop"

"Brake"

"Get out - I've had enough"

that's one of my brilliant business ideas!

1. A Driving School.

2. A Motorcycle Helmet Shop.

corner the market, very little competition too.

Hurry up , the girls chomping at the bit! :o
