Win10 Lock Screen not working as before?

Featured Replies

Anyone else notice strange start up screen performance after latest Win10 updates and got a fix? Whereas before the Lock Screen would change to something new each day, with an option to get more info about the image, now it is stuck on the same image that never changes and the option to get info about it is unavailable. Going to settings the "Get Fun Facts On/Off" always turns to off and cannot be left On.

Do we have to wait fro the next Win10 update to fix this that once worked or is the a workaround now?

System restore?

OK, give it a go and let me know how it works out.

LOL..

In the Lockscreen submenu, under "Background" select "Windows Spotlight".

After that the "Get fun facts..." radio button should stick.

Thanks, that helped me fix it.

At first there was no option for Windows Spotlight under Background so I Googled this and found a 10 step process to fix the issue at https://www.lifewire.com/fix-windows-spotlight-not-working-windows-10-4772370  where I needed to go all the way from steps 1-6 to fix it.

Interestingly step 10, which I didn't need to go as far as, is to do a system restore as mentioned by @rcuthbert and there I was thinking he was just being a cock-womble ????
