Thailand's immigration Bureau headed by Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang investigated after complaints from two banks and famous disc jockey Poomjai Tangsanga - well known as DJ Poom.

A man on Facebook called Adisorn was pretending to be the DJ to get Covid-19 donations but keeping the money for himself. He was also stealing data and cash after setting up a site selling products.

The IB followed the money and evidential trail to an address in Nonthaburi where twenty nine year old Adisorn was nabbed on a warrant for fraud, theft and data violations issued by the Phranakhon north court.

Complaints had been received from SCB and Krung Thai and fraudulent use of a True money wallet was also part of the case.

There were a total of 100 victims who lost a million baht in the scam, reported Daily News
