webfact
File photo: REUTERS Thailand on Friday (September 17) reported 14,555 new COVID-19 cases, 13,691 recoveries and 171 additional deaths over the past 24 hours. ● 13,691 recoveries ● 13,765 new infections ● 790 prison / prison infections Friday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 1,448,792 with 15,124 deaths. (Total infections since April 1: 1,419,929) The news comes as Dr. Prasit Watanapa, dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital of Mahidol University, is suggesting that the government take the “Phuket Sandbox” scheme into account before reopening borders on October 1st, cautioning that the country is not yet ready, due to low rates of vaccination. The reopening date should be pushed back a 1 month to ensure that Thailand is ready. His remark on Thursday comes as four more provinces – Chiang Mai, Chon Buri, Prachuap Khriri Khan, and Phetchaburi are set to welcome fully vaccinated COVID-negative international arrivals from Oct 1st and Bangkok to follow from October 15th. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-09-17 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates
Popular Post Bkk Brian
Large spike from infections in prisons yesterday, they've had months to take effective measures to control the spreads there but unfortunately neglect this portion of the community in a similar way to the migrants. Continuous uptick in community cases for the last 4 days. PCR test positive cases, total of 14,555 official new infections, with 790 of those from prison and 13,765 from the community. 171 official covid deaths recorded. Popular Post Bkk Brian
Latest situation report from WHO Thailand Although the reduced numbers of severe and ventilated cases are very welcome, they still represent a high workload for front-line health care professionals. In addition, when many beds on Intensive Care Units are still occupied by COVID cases, there is also an impact on the provision of health care for other patients. For example, some planned surgery might have to be deferred because we know that people who have complicated operations routinely need to spend time on an intensive care to help with their recovery. The impact of COVID-19 on other ‘essential’ healthcare services in Thailand also continues to be significant. In addition, although daily reported COVID-19 case numbers appear to have stablised to a degree, the relative proportion of all cases that are being reported in Bangkok remains high. There are also increases in case numbers being reported in some other locations, including some such as Phuket that have relatively high vaccination rates. It is now just a few weeks since the relaxation of many key Public Health and Social Measures in Thailand . Although case numbers are the lowest for several months, there is still significant transmission occurring in many communities and current levels of vaccination in Thailand are still much lower than the levels needed to achieve ‘herd immunity’. https://cdn.who.int/media/docs/default-source/searo/thailand/2021_09_16_eng-sitrep-201-covid19.pdf?sfvrsn=3a249ade_5 2

I hope you never apply that logic to the stock market. I can see many clusters of the green bars increasing in that graph while still having an overall down trend. The green bars go up, then flat, then fall back down with the trend. Sorry but it is very likely from historical data everywhere else in the world that in one month's time, the 7day case count will be lower.

Its called monitoring the situation, much like WHO has done in its latest update report just published.
ikke1959
yesterday in a prison there was an outbreak with many new cases and probably new cases. In the article they wrote that 64 prisoners got a Rapid test and after they tested positive they got a PCR test . This test confirmed the 64 cases to be positive. I therefor alwys will count the two tests together and than you will see un upward trend in cases. Everyone has to believe his own truth , and with the manipulated numbers there is no check if you are right or wrong, but for me I am still worried to see numbers rise

We have to learn to live with it. 'Learn to live with it' is a mantra that is most appropriately used by countries with very high vaccination rates. Before then, the phrase 'learn to die with it' would perhaps be more apt when viewed across the whole population. And no country did this; always there came a time when the hospitals became so overwhelmed that lockdown became necessary. I'm surprised that a poster of your knowledge and intelligence just can't see this.
