Popular Post Bangkok Barry
Received the monthly electric bill today and it was nearly double that of last month, but no apparent reason. So my wife compared last months bill to this and noticed that the price per unit has leapt from 2.779 per unit to 4.057. Plus VAT. I doubt that any country in the world suddenly imposes an increase of that magnitude, but I guess it's just part of the PM's promise to bring happiness to the people. I'm sure that someone smarter than me will be able to calculate the percentage increase. 3 5 2
Popular Post Denim
Just the opposite here. Last electric bill was half the usual and only 580 baht. Wife says it was because of some government hand out or something. Not received this months yet so will soon find out.

Now it looks like the standard price. 9

Popular Post Crossy
Our OP is almost certainly the victim of the COVID discount ending. The unit price for most of us is around 4.4 Baht give or take a gnats due to the sliding tariff above. So it looks like we will have no discount when we get our latest bill on Sunday ???? 8

But isn't it surprising that the OP didn't complain when his electricity bill HALVED due to the discounts? Now it's gone back to pre-discount normal pricing it's a problem? 5

The Covid concessions on my (Bangkok) electricity bills have not been a discount in the rate per unit charged, it has been a discount by virtue of the amount charged being no higher than some selected, much cheaper, previous month's bill. My consumption from April to August had increased by a multiple of three yet my bills for those months have all been exactly the same as the cheapest month. I've got my latest bill today and it is back to normal pre-Covid concession baht amounts, i.e. approximately three times last month's. Correct! The latest discounts (now ended) were based upon the February consumption. There's a thread detailing it somewhere, not going to go into the detail here since it's finished. 5

Bruno123
I have to say that it's good to be away from the bill padding that goes on with some accommodation providers. Even though my previous 'landlord' supposedly charged just 5 baht per unit(under duress); my bills are at a minimum 50% less now, even without discount(which most certainly would not have been passed on by the previous 'landlord'). With discount; my bills have been as little as 8% of what I was charged by them, for much the same usage.

There was a discount of something like 87 baht discount last month. I'm not sure they'd give a discount on the tariff together with a second discount on the same bill. I do know that my cooler season bill in Thailand when aircon use is drastically down is now the same as in the hot season when the air is sometimes on for up to 16 hours a day. 1

Popular Post eisfeld
Just to add a bit of info. The last time the electricity tariffs from PEA were changed was November 2018. No changes since then apart from the discounts. Source: https://www.pea.co.th/en/Electricity-Tariffs 1

The connection is that £20 was added as a COVID bonus which expires shortly and the do-gooders are calling it a cut now that it is ending when it is no such thing.
