A press conference at Region 4 drugs' suppression police in southern Thailand announced the arrest of four Thai women, all close friends from Ratchaburi.

They had transported 200 kilos of compressed marijuana worth 10 million baht from Saraburi to Hat Yai before they were arrested on the Punnakan-Thung Done Road in the Songkhla provincial city.

They were named as Sawitri, 30, Wiphawan, 33, and 37 year olds Nuan-Anong and Nitaya.

They said they had been paid 160,000 by an agent to transport the drugs and it was their first time.

They had used an Isuzu pick-up with a Honda Jazz leading the way as lookout.

The drugs were headed for "a neighboring country" said Daily News.

That would likely be Malaysia, notes ASEAN NOW.

All four have been charged with possessing with intent to sell a Class 5 drug.

200kg?  No idea about Thai prices but in the UK that's approaching £1 million - wholesale! Quite a long sentence in the UK for that amount but in Thailand what will they get - 50 years?

Too late to claim it's for personal use.
