Villages near Phu Tub Berk mountain placed under COVID lockdown until end October

The Phetchabun provincial governor has ordered two villages, next to Thailand’s famous mountain resort of Phu Tub Berk, closed to all outsiders from Monday until end of this month after several villagers were found to be infected with COVID-19.

Phuket SMEs urge support to reopen to serve tourists

PHUKET: Representatives from small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Phuket have called on the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion board (OSMEP) to provide support by providing access to low-interest loans without the onerous requirements currently required by government agencies and to set up a fund so they can reopen to serve tourists.

Some Thai berry pickers earned what equals 15 years salary during the season in Finland

The outbreak of covid-19 amongst a group of Thai berry pickers in August in Finland was a cause for concern but overall the summer season was good, at least from the Thai pickers’ point of view were the best managed to earn what would have been years of income in their home country of Thailand.

Human resources and inequality, main issues needing serious attention

Thailand needs to develop its human resources, improve the quality of its education, and get serious about addressing the inequality gap, says economist, Dr. Somjai Phagaphasvivat. He said that dealing with these issues is the long-term solution for the Thai economy.

Flood threat to the capital remains but will lessen after this week

Tourism Ministry hints at Thailand-Malaysia islands travel bubble

BANGKOK (NNT) - Authorities in Thailand and Malaysia are working on a plan to open a maritime travel bubble between Langkawi and Lipe islands in the Andaman Sea. There will not be quarantine requirements for ferry passengers traveling between the two places.

BANGKOK (NNT) - Dr. Kittipong Sanchatviroon, Director of Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute, Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) revealed on October 16th, that people who are looking to travel abroad after country reopening can obtain vaccination passport at any of the 100 venues designated by the Department of Disease Control.
